On November 10th, the U.S. Census Bureau released a new report: "Commuting Patterns of Older Workers in the United States: 2013 – 2017."

The report explores the work-related travel of older workers in the United States.  It describes the increasing role of older workers through the preceding decade.

In addition, the report demonstrates the ways the commuting behaviors of the older workers differ from those of the younger workers and contribute to changing travel patterns.

Older workers are a diverse group whose commuting patterns are varied. Grantees can accommodate the needs of this growing share of the working population by understanding their commuting behavior and the differences from that of younger workers.
