PY 2019 Planning Instructions and Allotments for SCSEP State, Territorial, and National Grantees

The 2019 Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) No. 18-18 has been published on the Employment & Training Administration Advisory Website. The TEGL 18-18 was released on Friday May 10, 2019 to provide SCSEP grantees with the SCSEP allotments and application instructions for PY 2019 SCSEP grant submissions.

The SCSEP Interim Final Rule Webinar

This webinar will discuss the changes to the SCSEP Regulations through the release of the 2017 IFR. The purpose of the IFR is to revise the SCSEP performance accountability measures to align with requirements set forth in the Older Americans Act Reauthorization Act of 2016 (OAA-2016).  This informative webinar will provide SCSEP grantees an understanding of the new requirements such as the changes to core performance measures and goal negotiation.

During the month of May, the nation observes Older Americans Month. As it relates to employment, there continues to be a demographic shift of an aging workforce. In 2016, the U.S. disability prevalence rate for the age between 65 to 74 was 25.3 percent.  ETA is pleased to highlight this public service announcement video from the New England ADA Center discussing the role of the ADA to support older Americans with acquired disabilities.

WIOA One-Stop Infrastructure Funding Webinar: Part 1

This is a reminder about the upcoming webinar we mentioned on September’s All Grantee Call which will provide information about one-stop infrastructure funding under WIOA. This is highly relevant for all SCSEP grantees because SCSEP is a mandatory one-stop partner. It is open to the public, but you must have/sign up for a WorkforceGPS account and register. We encourage you to register for the webinar now, as there are limited spots available.

ETA Publishes Change 1 to TEGL 16-16 One-Stop Operations Guidance for the AJC Network

The language describing infrastructure funding and additional costs that are shared by one-stop partners in the one-stop local delivery system in TEGL 17-16, Infrastructure Funding of the One-Stop Delivery System, and TEGL 16-16, One-Stop Operations Guidance for the American Job Center Network is now fully aligned. SCSEP is a required One-Stop Partner (WIOA Section 121(b)(1)(B)).

Training and Employment Notice (TEN) NO. 16-18

ETA, in collaboration with ODEP, released TEN NO. 16-18 on March 8, 2019, to notify the workforce system about the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program’s new administrative processes for public workforce employment networks (ENs).  This TEN supports the Department of Labor’s goal to expand the capacity of the American Job Center network to serve persons receiving Social Security disability benefits.
